Determine that the Wildflower Playfield Playground Resurfacing Project is categorically <br />exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). <br />2. Approve playground resurfacing at Wildflower Playfield. <br />3. Award bid to Robertson Industries Inc. for $37,065.40 for removal and disposal of existing <br />rubber play surfacing and installation of new rubber play surfacing. <br />CEQA COMPLIANCE <br />For the Board consideration and approval, District staff believes the project qualifies for a Class <br />2 Categorical Exemption, pursuant to Section 15302 of the CEQA Guidelines. Class 2 <br />exemptions include replacement of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will <br />be located on the same site as the structure replaced. In this project, the project is replacing the <br />existing play equipment located in the same location. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In accordance with the May 2015 Board -approved District purchasing policy, general services <br />valued between $30,000.01 and $45,000.00 must be approved by the Board. Additionally, staff <br />requested quotes from three local vendors. From this effort, three quotes were received: <br />• $37,065.40 from Robertson Industries, Inc. <br />• $43,756.42 from Dave Bang Assoc.
