CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />December 12, 2013 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Holt called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and Lindsey led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Huffer, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and Lindsey <br />and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Las Flores Community Garden <br />Susan Sondell, President of the Garden, highlighted the year's activities. The Garden <br />currently has 124 plots and 108 members. Recent projects include the Pergola, currently <br />under construction and made possible by a CRPD 2012 capital improvement grant, and <br />the Greenhouse, built with monies obtained from a CRPD 50r Anniversary capital <br />improvement grant. There are many activities underway, including special workshops and <br />events designed with community involvement in mind. Cyndee Zahorik, Treasurer, <br />explained the use of fines imposed due to the long waiting list for plots. Future plans <br />include the addition of a Children's Garden with 22 plots. <br />Sondell answered Board members' questions and was thanked for her informative <br />presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />
