September 18 1997 <br />Page 5 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that the Lang Ranch Neighborhood Park project is <br />progressing quickly, and he is hopeful that the park can be opened in mid- <br />January. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington reported on the success of the summer recreation programs <br />and the summer concert series. He discussed the success of the senior <br />softball teams and recent tournament, and he said that teen summer program <br />registration exceeded all previous figures. <br />In response to Gillette's inquiry, Washington said that no complaints have <br />been received during the last three years relative to swim pool scheduling. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen stated that the sound system used at Board meetings will be <br />replaced in the near future. <br />Lange requested that Jorgensen contact Santa Monica Mountains <br />Conservancy to discuss plans for their website. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward said that the next meeting of the Hill Canyon Recreational Resources <br />Authority is scheduled for October 1. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Holt thanked Sorensen for the recent tour of Dos Vientos. <br />Gillette noted the inadequate signage at Peppertree Park and suggested that <br />additional signage would be appropriate. <br />
