July 24, 1997 <br />Page 4 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen stated that the custodial contract will be reviewed in October. <br />Berger asked for Sorensen's input on a recently published skateboard article. <br />Based on Board determination, it was agreed that the ground breaking <br />ceremony for Lange Ranch Neighborhood Park site will be scheduled for <br />August 18 at 9 a.m. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington highlighted upcoming events including the teen summer musical <br />Tommy, The Meng Wives of Windsor, and the August 7 concert in the park. <br />He said that a report and recommendation on a portable skateboard facility <br />will be presented to the Board on August 7. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Washington said that the recent <br />Shakespearean presentation in the park is part of the District's effort to offer <br />a variety of performance options to the community <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen said that the liability report indicated that there were no open <br />cases at the end of the fiscal year. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward said that the tri -agency survey conducted by J. Moore Methods, Inc. <br />will be released shortly and he explained the structure and format of the <br />report. He presented an update of the Hill Canyon project, and noted the <br />press release regarding the budget. <br />
