Minutes 2-20-97 <br />Page 6 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that the Rancho Conejo Playfield <br />construction schedule is approximately two weeks behind <br />schedule due to the inclement weather, and a mid-August <br />opening date is anticipated. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington reported that the CSAPA (Conejo Substance <br />Abuse Prevention Authority) Parenting Faire was well <br />received, the Volunteer Recognition Dinner will be held <br />March 2, and the spring brochure will be published <br />shortly. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that a tentative date of March 27 has been <br />identified for a possible joint meeting with Rancho Simi <br />and Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park Districts. <br />He said that a joint meeting with the City Council, <br />regarding the adoption of the JPA (joint powers <br />authority) for Hill Canyon Regional Recreation Project, <br />has been tentatively set for March 18, and he said that <br />the project is on schedule. <br />He said that the February 21 meeting regarding the <br />Commemorative Forest project has been rescheduled to <br />February 28. <br />Concluding, Ward announced the birth of Washington's <br />first grandchild, a girl named Alaina Haley. He, Board <br />members, and staff congratulated Washington. <br />
