Minutes 2-20-97 <br />Page 4 <br />In response -co jacobsen, s inquiry, Ward said that a grand <br />opening for the facility has been discussed, Shapell has <br />conceptually agreed to fund such an event, and the City <br />of Thousand Oaks is interested in participating. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that the <br />District has several proven vendors of play equipment, <br />the conceptual design was done by Moore, and, due to time <br />constraints, the bid was advertised but vendors were not <br />notified individually. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried <br />unanimously to authorize the purchase of play equipment <br />and the related costs for a total of $54,172.41 as bid <br />by Moore Recreation Equipment, all reimbursable by <br />Shapell Industries for the development of the Rancho <br />Conejo Playfield tot -lot area. <br />D. Adoption Of Resolution Number 022097-A, A Resolution <br />Confirming The District's Intent To Acquire The Parcel <br />At 1201 La Granada Drive In Thousand Oaks, California <br />Sorensen said that the resolution is necessary only in <br />the event of a legal challenge. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen said that the <br />tax sale date is February 26, the mortgage balance is <br />approximately $200,000, and he explained the acquisition <br />process. <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Berger, and carried <br />unanimously to adopt Resolution Number 022097-A, a <br />resolution confirming the District's intent to acquire <br />the parcel at 1201 La Granada Drive in Thousand Oaks, <br />California, parcel number 678-0-222-015, that it be read <br />in title only and all further readings be waived. <br />E. Approval To Use The Services Of Schoolhouse Publications <br />For Production, Printing, And Distribution Of Quarterly <br />Brochure <br />Washington said that it is time to elicit bids for the <br />publication of the brochure, the current publisher is <br />Schoolhouse Publications, nine vendors submitted <br />proposals, and it is staff recommendation to award the <br />bid to Schoolhouse. <br />
