Minutes 10-3-96
Page 3
6• CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Minutes of September 19, 1996 Meeting
B. Warrants, Exhibits A - D, Total $150,852.22
It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried
unanimously, to approve the Consent Calendar as
presented.
7. DEFERRED MATTERS
None
B. NEW ITEMS
A. Approval Of Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) And
Modification To The Grade At The Future Kimber Playfield
Site
Sorensen summarized that the District has the opportunity
to obtain grading and some repairs to the undeveloped
Kimber site in exchange for soil the developer can use.
He noted the modified draft MOU handout.
Referencing a map and support documentation, Gilmore
reviewed the site history, preliminary planning,
problems, the current slope and Colmer's proposed grading
plan for the slope, and the resulting advantages to the
District that would ensue.
In response to Board inquiries, Gilmore explained that:
there is an existing fence between the site and the
adjoining church property; the fencing will match; no
Quimby fees are available; the developer will notify the
public; and it is probable that the remaining soil will
not present a problem, no additional site grading is
needed, neighbors would prefer a park versus a playfield,
and the grading will not compromise the playfield concept
nor the site's parking potential.
It was moved by Lange, seconded by Berger, and carried
unanimously to authorize staff to execute a Memorandum
of Understanding between the District and Colmer
Development Company of Calabasas for the purpose of
grading and removing dirt from the Kimber Playfield site
in trade for certain services to the District.
