Minutes 5-2-96
Page 6
C. Administration Division Report
Ward said that the health of the Administrator of
Management Services continues to improve. On behalf of
the Board, Gillette extended best wishes for Jorgensen's
continued recuperation.
D. General Manager's Report
Ward said that on May 6 and 7 he will attend the CSDA
(California Special Districts Association) Legislative
Day and a CARPD (California Association of Recreation and
Park Districts) meeting in Sacramento.
Additionally, he said District Ordinance Section 414 was
successfully employed by the Sheriff's Department at
Conejo Valley Days.
Concluding, Ward said that Arnold Dowdy was hired as the
Executive Officer of LAFCO (Local Area Formation
Commission) and VCAG (Ventura County Association of
Governments). He said that a Conejo Open Space
Foundation fund raiser is planned at Two Winds in June,
and Board members are to be invited to participate.
E. Directors' Reports
Berger said that, on behalf of the Board, flowers were
sent to the Administrator of Management Services.
Further, Berger thanked Gillette for representing the
District on the Mayor's KNJO radio program. Holt
suggested that a tape of the radio program and the recent
newspaper coverage of Gillette's letter to Mayor Fox and
the City Council be used as educational tools for
District constituents. Ward said that he will explore
the possibility.
Lange announced that the District won a trophy in the
Conejo Valley Days Parade, the trophy will be presented
at the next meeting, and the response of parade viewers
to the District's presence was very supportive.
