December 17, 1998
Page 2
S. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 5-0, to
approve the agenda as presented.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Minutes of December 3, 1998 Meeting
B. Warrants, Exhibits A - C, Total $203,225.21
It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jacobson, and carried 4-0, with
Gibson abstaining, to approve the Consent Calendar as presented.
7. DEFERRED MATTERS
None
8. NEW ITEMS
A. Approval Of Addition Of Conejo Creek North Signs To District Capital
Improvement Budget
Sorensen stated that: District and City staff have been meeting to discuss
monument signage visible from Janss Road at both the library and
community park entrance on the east and the Teen and Senior Adult
Centers at the western entrance; City personnel are reviewing the same
proposal submitted to the Board; the anticipated cost for the signs, including
installation, is expected to be less than $20,000, with the City and District
splitting the cost 50150; five informal bids have been received; and it is
expected that the cost will be less than originally anticipated.
In response to Board inquiries, staff explained the traffic circulation design
of the park complex, and said the proposed concrete signs can not be
made in-house, and they will match the unique roof design of the library, as
do the existing picnic structures and smaller signs throughout the park.
Additionally, staff will explore with City staff the placement of names on the
signage, and, although event signage has been discussed in the past, only
two such signs have thus far been approved, one at the auto center and
one at the Civic Arts Plaza.
