1. <br />2. <br />CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 5, 1998 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m., and Joe Gibson led the flag <br />salute. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gillette, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Jacobsen arrived at 7:05 p.m. <br />Gillette arrived at 7:25 p.m. <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Sorensen, and <br />Washington, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />Focus Group Present: Sandy Clayton, Joe Gibson, Thomas Harlin, Tim Heyne, <br />Barbara Kloster, Karen Laun, Sharon Noel, Bob Shoup, Laura Heisen, Gina <br />Smurthwaite <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Study Session <br />Discussion Of Conejo Creek Park Master Plan Alternatives With Focus <br />Group <br />Chair Lange welcomed attendees, and referenced past relevant events. <br />Sorensen stated that the purpose of the study session was to facilitate <br />communication between the Board and the focus group, and provide an <br />opportunity to discuss the focus group's preferred alternatives for the Conejo <br />Creek Master Plan. He introduced Robert Takata of Takata Associates. <br />Takata referenced a map, identified the site quadrants, proposed components, <br />their locations, and size. <br />Members of the focus group introduced themselves, and identified and discussed <br />their preferred alternatives and the rationale supporting their ideas. Discussion <br />topics included potential user groups and schedules, organizations affected, <br />surrounding areas, pedestrian and vehicular access, traffic, and safety <br />considerations, and neighborhood demographics. Questions were asked and <br />answered, information, opinions, concerns, and goals were articulated and <br />
