September 17, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />Joe Gibson, Conejo Valley Little League President, congratulated Henson and <br />thanked the District for the use of its facilities. On behalf of the Conejo Valley <br />Chamber of Commerce, Rick Lemmo congratulated the team and presented an <br />award. Board members congratulated and praised the team, coaches, families, <br />and supporters for their achievement, efforts, and contribution to the community. <br />Lange recessed the meeting at 8:12 p.m. and reconvened at 8:23 p.m. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Larry Horner, Thousand Oaks, congratulated the District for providing the <br />community with praiseworthy facilities and programs. <br />Horner expressed concern and support for Jacobsen, and spoke of his many <br />years of service to the community. Gillette thanked Horner for his presence, and <br />said that all are saddened by the situation and are working for a speedy and <br />positive resolution to the problem. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-0 to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of September 3, 1998 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - C, Total $267,143.10 <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0, to <br />approve the Consent Calendar as presented. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />A. Public Hearing - McCrea Ranch Master Plan <br />Sorensen noted the presence of Jeff Ferber and Mike Shrod, of RRM and <br />Associates, and Sr. Park Planner Gilmore. He reviewed the acquisition of <br />the ranch, the beneficence of the McCrea family, and the ranch's <br />registration as an historical site. He said that a budget for the phased <br />developed of the site would be presented to the Board after the approval of <br />the Master Plan, and there are no plans to add additional access points to <br />the site. <br />
