July 23, 1998 <br />Page 4 <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Jorgensen and Ward explained that <br />revenue from other agencies include not only MRCA reimbursement, but <br />also a grant for the Leggett Court summer recreation program. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to adopt <br />Resolution Number 072398-A, approving the Fiscal Year 1998-1999 <br />budgets for all funds, and policy matters contained in the body of the <br />submitted documentation, that it be read in title only and all further <br />readings be waived. <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0 to <br />approve the combined City and District expenditure budget for Conejo <br />Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) in the amount of $827,772. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization To Purchase Refrigerator For Old Meadows Center <br />Washington identified the urgent need for the refrigerator, and stated that <br />funds are available in the vending machine account. He said an industrial <br />capacity refrigerator is not necessary <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to <br />authorize staff to purchase a new refrigerator for Old Meadows Center <br />in the amount of $679.97; funds available in the vending machine <br />account. <br />B. Authorization To Execute Agreement With American National Red <br />Cross For Use Of District Facilities During Local Emergencies <br />Washington stated that the American National Red Cross approached staff <br />regarding the availability of District facilities for use during local <br />emergencies. He identified the two types of facilities being requested, and <br />said that Goebel Senior Adult Center, Borchard and Thousand Oaks <br />Community Centers are under consideration, and the City Council has <br />approved the use of Goebel Center. He said that a signed agreement <br />would not ensure facility use, and noted the presence of John Fleming, of <br />the Ventura Chapter of the American .Red Cross. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Fleming said that several facilities in the area <br />are being investigated, including school district facilities, and emergency <br />conditions would determine the specific facility used. <br />
