June 18, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />Lange announced that this is the time and place fixed for the Public Hearing <br />relating to the levy of annual assessments for costs of maintenance <br />improvements for Landscape Maintenance District No. 92-1, and opened <br />the meeting for public discussion. Ward said that the notice was given in <br />the manner and form as required by law. <br />Sorensen presented an overview of the assessment district and said that <br />the Assessment Engineer would tabulate the ballots subsequent to the <br />closure of the Public Hearing, and determine whether or not sufficient yes <br />votes were submitted to warrant the proposed levy. He said that the Board <br />could then consider either adoption of Resolution Number 061898-13, <br />ordering the levy of assessments, or order a subsequent resolution <br />abandoning the proceedings. He identified two minor typographic errors in <br />the Engineer's Report on page 20, and noted the presence of James <br />Grisham, Assessment Engineer of Willdan Associates. <br />As no one was in attendance who wished to address the Board, Lange <br />declared the Public Hearing closed. <br />Sorensen requested a brief recess for tabulation of the ballots. <br />Lange said that, if there were no objections, Item 7.A. would be <br />momentarily tabled and the Board would consider Item B.A. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Adoption Of Resolution Number 061898-A, Setting The 1998-1999 <br />Appropriation Subject To Limitation <br />Ward stated that there is an annual requirement to certify that the District is <br />under the Gann limitation, and recommended the adoption of the resolution. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Gillette, and carried 4-0 to <br />adopt Resolution Number 061898-A, setting the 1998-99 appropriation <br />subject to the limitation, and that it be read in title only and all further <br />readings be waived. <br />8. B. Adoption Of Resolution Number 016898-D, Amending The 1997-1998 <br />Annual Operating Budget <br />Jorgensen stated that this is an annual event, and he identified work <br />centers requiring adjustments due to unexpected expenditures.
