7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />A. Public Hearing Fiscal Year 1998-99 Budget <br />Lange declared the public hearing open. <br />As no one was in attendance who wished to address the Board, the <br />public hearing was continued to the next regular meeting. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Consideration of Election of Special District Representative to the <br />Ventura County Local Agency Formation Commission LAFCO <br />Ward referred to the memorandum regarding the representation of <br />Special Districts on the LAFCO Board which provides that the selection <br />committee of the independent Special Districts in Ventura County <br />convene and elect nominees for representation on LAFCO. Ward pointed <br />out the issues and answered questions. <br />Lange asked if there were any Board members interested in the position. <br />It was moved by Jacobsen and seconded by Berger that Lange represent <br />the District on the Special District Selection Committee. <br />Ward said that vice chair Holt would serve as the alternate. <br />9.
