Adoption of Resolution Number 041698-A, A Resolution Adopting A <br />Preliminary Budget For Fiscal Year 1998-1999 And Authorizing <br />General Manager To Publish Notice Of Adoption <br />Ward stated that the presentation of the preliminary budget begins the <br />budget cycle, it is the current year's operating budget, the budget process <br />will ensue, and staff recommendation is to adopt the resolution as <br />presented. <br />Lange said that the budget will soon be available on the District website. <br />It was moved by Jacobsen, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0, with <br />Gillette not yet in attendance, to adopt Resolution Number 041698-A <br />adopting a preliminary budget for fiscal year 1998-1999 and authorize <br />the General Manager to publish the notice of adoption; that it be read <br />in title only and all other readings be waived. <br />B. Approval Of Request By Eventmakers To Conduct Mardi Gras Picnic <br />For Zenith Insurance Company At Conejo Creek North On October 3, <br />1998 And Authorization To Develop A Memorandum Of Understanding <br />Washington reviewed the proposed event, including the schedule of events, <br />facility map layout, projected attendance and impact on the park and <br />general public, and Eventmakers, the organization that will manage the <br />event. He noted the presence of Guy Genis, President of Eventmakers, <br />available to address the Board and answer questions, if desired, and said <br />that successive day company picnics are being requested, the first for <br />Zenith Insurance and the second for Teradyne Company. <br />Guy Genis explained the latest version of the site layout. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Washington said that adequate parking <br />space is envisioned for Saturday's event and shuttle service is being <br />considered for Sunday's, alcohol service will be part of the event, an MOU <br />will be created, sound testing activities will not be part of the early morning <br />setup activities, and a special event permit requires the involvement of <br />police, fire, and public works officials. <br />Berger urged a sensitivity to the concerns of the surrounding neighborhood. <br />E <br />
