August 17, 2000 <br />Page 4 <br />Middle School and the After School Homework Club/Recreation Program at <br />Conejo Elementary School. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiries, Benton highlighted the tutoring program <br />at Conejo Elementary School, and said that tutors will be from California <br />Lutheran University, the program will not be a duplication of existing <br />programs, grant monies were used, the principal sought the program, .the <br />school satisfied grant criteria, and the program will be evaluated and <br />consideration given to its possible application at other schools. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Benton said that the Parachute Express <br />program was well received and will be scheduled again next year. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen reported that the website redesign project is progressing well, and <br />on-line registration is currently being utilized with minor problems. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Jorgensen said that the next major goal is <br />on-line, real time registration at all centers, no current software package <br />satisfies all District needs, and there is a growing number of program <br />registrants who are using on-line registration. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that District and City staff continue to work on the disposition, <br />scope and design parameters of the 401 Hillcrest project; administrative staff <br />will meet with Gerard van Steyn, of Shilts Consultants, on August 18; and the <br />dedication ceremony .of the Old Meadows Neighborhood Park playground <br />has been rescheduled. He referenced various handouts including Thousand <br />Oaks Library Foundation correspondence relative to a proposed expansion <br />for a radio archive, and CSDA (California Special Districts Association) <br />correspondence regarding the Joint Amicus Brief — Sonoma County ERAF <br />(Educational Revenue Augmentation Fund) and the property tax shift. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Berger noted the recent Los Angeles Times news article on Mike McAdam, <br />District employee, and in response to Berger's request, Jacobsen said that <br />he would represent the Board at the August 18 groundbreaking for the <br />Community Transportation Facility and Green Meadow Bikeway. <br />
