DEFERRED MATTERS <br />None <br />a. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Approval Of Youth Recreation Program Agreement With City Of <br />Westlake Village <br />Benton stated staff recommendation, and noted that the programs would be <br />conducted at Bennett Park and the City Hall Community Room. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 3-0 to <br />authorize the General Manager to execute the attached agreement <br />between the City of Westlake Village and the District for the 2000-01 <br />Youth Recreation Program. <br />B. Adoption Of Resolution Of Intention To Amend District's PERS Contract <br />To Provide Section 20042 Benefits To Its Employees <br />Jorgensen referenced the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) approved <br />by the Board on June 22, 2000, and noted that it contained a provision for an <br />actuarial study to be done by PERS to determine the financial impact of <br />implementing one-year final compensation. He said that the study has been <br />completed and shows no immediate cost to the District, it is proposed that the <br />matter be brought to the Board for adoption of the final resolution on <br />September 21, 2000, and the proposed effective date for implementing the <br />change is October 1, 2000. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiries, Jorgensen said that the proposal covers <br />all full-time and part-time employees working more than 20 hours a week, the <br />District's benefits package is similar to most comparable agencies, and it is <br />projected that there will be no long-term cost to the District during the first 20 <br />years. <br />
