Adoption Of Proposed Changes To The Mountains Recreation And <br />Conservation Authority Joint Exercise Of Powers Agreement <br />Ward stated that the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) staff <br />recommends that the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority <br />(MRCA) joint powers agreement be amended to increase liability protection <br />for member agencies and to provide a Memorandum of Understanding <br />between the Conservancy and MRCA to clarify roles and responsibilities of <br />those entities, as it pertains to land management and other functions. He <br />noted that the MRCA Board approved the revision on December 27, 1999. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Gibson, and carried <br />unanimously to adopt the proposed changes to the Mountains <br />Recreation and Conservation Authority Joint Exercise of Powers <br />Agreement, as submitted, and authorize the General Manager to <br />execute the appropriate documents. <br />9.
