January 6, 2000 <br />Page 3 <br />Berger presented a ceremonial gavel to Holt, thanked her for her work, and <br />commended her for her leadership. Berger assumed the position of Chair, <br />referenced current committee assignments, determined openings to be <br />filled, and asked for preferences. <br />Berger reappointed Lange Teen Center and Services Authority <br />representative, and extended the appointment to 2002; Berger <br />appointed Gibson Conejo Substance Abuse Prevention Authority <br />representative and Jacobsen alternate; all other appointments <br />remained the same. The Board unanimously approved. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Ward said that the Hill Canyon <br />Recreational Resources Authority is in the process of being terminated. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange and carried 5-0 to <br />dissolve the Hill Canyon Regional Recreation Area Sub -Committee. <br />B. Approval Of Use Of Mobile Stage By The City Of Agoura Hills <br />Lindsey referenced the past use of the stage by the City of Agoura Hills, <br />noted the documentation, and said that no problems were reported last <br />year, and Board approval is sought for the out -of -district use of the stage. <br />She noted the presence of Dale Sumersille, Recreation Supervisor from the <br />City of Agoura Hills. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Lindsey discussed stage rental fees and <br />costs. Lange expressed concern about the wear and tear on the stage. <br />Jacobsen concurred, and urged consideration be given to establishing a <br />special depreciation fund. Ward said that the wear and tear on the stage <br />through out -of -district use is not significant to warrant such a fund, and <br />current out -of -district charges are in excess of local charges. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to <br />approve the use of the mobile stage by the City of Agoura Hills for <br />Sundays, June 18, July 9 and 23, and August 6 and 20, and authorize <br />staff to issue a rental use permit to the City Community Services <br />Department; the mobile stage to be used at Chumash Park for the City <br />of Agoura Hills Summer Concert Series. <br />C. Approval Of Newbury Park Pony Baseball Request To Install Fencing <br />At Cypress Park Ballfield <br />Lindsey stated that this is an annual request, and the temporary fence will <br />be removed no later than June 30.
