June 21, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />A. Public Hearing — Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budget <br />1. Presentation Of Capital Improvement Projects <br />Gibson declared the public hearing open. <br />Sorensen presented an overview of the District Master Plan and Capital <br />Improvement Projects. He identified and discussed changes, including the <br />Hope, Gunston Hall, and Olsen Channel parcel transfers from District to <br />Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) management. He also <br />noted that the Conejo Ridge open space parcel has been transferred to <br />COSCA. <br />Additionally, he identified new park facilities including the skateboard park, <br />Rancho Conejo Playfield, dog park, and Kimber Park site, which will open in <br />December. <br />He discussed Capital Improvement Projects, including new, carryover, and <br />proposed projects. <br />He identified and discussed six priority TV' projects, including Dos Vientos <br />Park, whose groundbreaking was conducted earlier in the day, Northwood <br />Playfield, Lang Ranch Community Park site, Conejo Creek South baseball <br />field and Master Plan improvements, and McCrea Ranch, Phase 1. <br />He also reviewed efforts and projects to reduce District liability exposure. <br />He discussed relevant concerns, demographics, community input, projected <br />schedules, funding options, including possible grants and potential <br />partnership agreements. <br />Sorensen noted that the District administration office and program support <br />services plan to move to 401 West Hillcrest the last two weeks of December. <br />He added that Proposition 12 grant opportunities are expected, cultural <br />improvements will include the "Black Bok' Theatre, and it is anticipated that <br />shell and improvements costs will be approximately $1,150,000. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiries, Sorensen said that all new projects will <br />be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the <br />Wildwood fort cannot be renovated until a funding source is secured. He <br />identified and discussed efforts to ensure community awareness of District <br />projects. <br />
