Approval Of Agreement With City Of Thousand Oaks For Use Of City <br />Facility - North Building At 401 Hillcrest <br />Ward referenced the agreement, provided background information, and <br />stated that the agreement was unanimously approved by the Thousand Oaks <br />City Council on May 22, and it is anticipated that the City will shortly begin <br />the bid process. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Ward identified and discussed significant <br />points of the agreement. He said that the City will maintain the building and <br />grounds; CRPD will operate and manage the facility and program uses, <br />including services provided by the Arts Council of the Conejo, which operates <br />under a Memorandum of Understanding with the City and CRPD; CRPD will <br />pay a share of the utilities based upon square footage of administrative office <br />space to the total space; the South building has been rehabilitated and <br />leased to the National Park Service; the agreement is similar in nature to <br />those presently in force between the City and CRPD, relative to the Senior <br />and Teen Centers; and the term of the agreement is 25 -years, with extension <br />options. <br />Berger and Gibson expressed support for the agreement. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to <br />authorize the Board Chair to execute the submitted agreement and <br />authorize the City to bid the project. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Adoption Of Resolutions 052401-A, 052401-B And 052401-C, Setting <br />The Date For A Public Hearing For Landscape Maintenance District <br />(LIVID) 94-1, Dos Vientos <br />Sorensen referenced assessment district law requirements, and identified <br />the proposed improvements within LIVID 94-1. He said that it is anticipated <br />that the improvements will significantly increase in the last quarter of 2001- <br />2002 with the addition of the 27 -acre Dos Vientos Community Center and <br />Park site; a June groundbreaking ceremony is planned for late June; it is <br />further anticipated that the annual levy to be proposed will be less than the <br />
