January 24, 2002
Page 4
8. NEVA ITEMS
A. Dos Vientos Park Site D Master Plan
Referencing a map, Pluth said that the location of the future park site is north
of the intersection of Via Las Brisas and Via Mirbella, and identified proposed
Master Plan components including play areas with structures for both tots
and school-age children, an active play turf area, gazebo, trail connectors,
buffer plantings and landscaping. He said that the Master Plan is consistent
with neighborhood park standards.
In response to Board inquiries, staff said that park information is part of the
escrow process of new home buyers, park construction will be driven by total
number of homes built, and the Specific Plan requires development of this
neighborhood park.
Kathy Perkinson, representing Miller Family Companies, discussed the
disclosures furnished to new home buyers, and the issues associated with
the Western Plateau Preservation Plan, relative to the park site. She
indicated that although this park Master Plan is contingent upon approval of
Western Plateau Preservation Plan, it is understood that the park's creation,
in some location, will not be jeopardized.
It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to approve
the Master Plan for Dos Vientos Park Site D.
B. Bid Results For The Purchase And Installation Of Stagecoach Inn
Accessible Restroom Building
Pluth said that the 75 -square foot, concrete, pre -fabricated, unisex, restroom
building will match the style of the Carriage HouselMuseum complex and will
be constructed between the Carriage House and new mobile home. He
reviewed the bid process, and referenced the documentation. He indicated
that a bid was received from Ameriko, Inc. of Pasadena, and by separating
project purchase from installation, and subsequent value engineering, the
total cost of the project was lowered significantly.
In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Pluth said that the design and location of
the restroom has been approved by the Historical Society.
