CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 4, 2003 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Danielle led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Assistant General Managers Friedl and <br />Sorensen, Administrators Jorgensen and Benton, Recreation Manager Wiley, <br />Recreation Supervisor Koval, Recreation Supervisor/Sports Lukes, and Executive <br />Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />RSVP Presentation —Louise Danielle <br />Koval introduced Danielle, who provided background information, presented an <br />overview of last year's accomplishments, and identified a range of volunteer <br />opportunities offered through RSVP. She said that RSVP began in 1971, this year <br />there are 1,457 volunteers who are responsible for 308,000 volunteer hours, the <br />ages of volunteers range from 55 to 97 years, and in 2001 RSVP was nominated <br />by the Chamber of Commerce as the Volunteer Organization of the Year. <br />Danielle introduced Barbara D'Anjou, the director of the Volunteers in Policing <br />Program. She said there are 79 volunteers, 28,000 hours were volunteered last <br />year, and she described a wide range of volunteer tasks. <br />Board members commended the Volunteers in Policing Program. It was noted <br />that few cities have such a comprehensive program. <br />Danielle thanked the District for its support of the RSVP program <br />
