1. <br />2. <br />CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 10, 2003 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Coleman led the flag <br />salute. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Jacobsen arrived at 7:45 p.m. <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Scott, and <br />Sorensen, Recreation Manager Lindsey, Teen Services Director Coleman, Park <br />Superintendent Marchesano, Recreation Supervisor Buchanan, and Executive <br />Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Teen Center Presentation - <br />Staff <br />Jay Dodwell <br />Mary Jo Diefenthaler <br />Peter Martinez <br />Todd Ruwhiu <br />Ethan Zinner <br />Teen Services Director Coleman <br />Advisory Committee Member <br />Joyce Parks <br />Coleman introduced staff and Parks. She highlighted recent teen events, <br />including the DARE graduation, luau dance, Spirit Night, and Battle of the Bands; <br />she discussed innovative programming including video production and video <br />editing, scrap booking and a six week basketball program; and she identified <br />recently purchased resources including a large screen television, photo display <br />case, staging, patio furniture, and sound equipment. <br />She presented a video production, produced in-house by Martinez entitled "The <br />Basketball Game," featuring Conejo Valley High School. <br />Board members recognized and congratulated Teen Center staff. <br />
