June 19, 2003 <br />Page 2 <br />Holt and Jacobson welcomed and highlighted the achievements of the team and <br />Head Coach Stillwell. Holt noted that the win of the CIF Southern Section Baseball <br />Championship was the first in their school history. Jacobsen added that the <br />Lancers are only the second Conejo Valley School to win a CIF Southern Section <br />Baseball Championship and that Newbury Park won the title in 1968. <br />Lange introduced Stillwell, he noted that he has held the position for two years and <br />that his father held the same position from 1968 to 1971. <br />Stillwell thanked the Board and noted how everyone in the room had benefited <br />from CRPD programs and facilities. He introduced each athlete, and cited his <br />achievements. <br />On behalf of the Board, Holt and Jacobsen, with the assistance of Lukes, <br />presented the awards to the athletes. Board members offered their <br />congratulations. <br />Lange recognized Stillwell as being awarded CIF Coach of the Year. <br />Berger commented on the coach as a positive role model and also on previous <br />recipients. <br />Gibson commented that he had known many of the athletes from Conejo Valley <br />Little League rosters, and that he is proud of their accomplishments and the <br />support of family and boosters. He also noted and congratulated Mike Kolkowski <br />as the recipient of CVLL Scholarship Award. <br />Holt offered additional congratulations. <br />Jacobson recognized parents and CRPD staff for their assistance. <br />Lange noted a personal connection to Coach Stillwell's family, and presented him <br />with a CRPD 40ti' Anniversary Commemorative Pin. Lange also recognized the <br />grandparents of Zach Ginther and presented a pin to him and commented that he <br />appreciated the opportunity to recognize members of the community. <br />Meeting was recessed at 7:56 pm and reconvened at 8:08 pm. <br />Lange presented Ward and Scott with the Summer 2003 Special Olympics <br />Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Agency, awarded to the Therapeutic <br />Unit, that he had accepted on behalf of the District. Scott thanked and <br />commended the outstanding efforts of the Therapeutic Unit, including Recreation <br />
