CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 1, 2003 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Recreation Manager <br />Lindsey led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Scott, and <br />Sorensen, Senior Park Planner Pluth, Recreation Manager Lindsey, Recreation <br />Supervisor Olbrich, Recreation Coordinator McAdam, and Executive Secretary <br />Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Outdoor Unit -- Michael McAdam <br />Olbrich highlighted activities and services of the Outdoor Unit, and introduced <br />McAdam who presented an overview of the Outdoor Unit, and displayed a <br />taxidermy collection featuring local animals, pelts, and birds. He said the collection <br />was begun in 1989, it is used as an educational tool, and is on display at Conejo <br />Center. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquires, McAdam said that the most popular day camp <br />is the Wildwood Day Camp, which is limited in size by site facilities, and Trail Days <br />frequently generates interest in family nature hikes. <br />Lange thanked McAdam, and commended the Outdoor Unit for its service to the <br />community. <br />4.
