CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2005 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Gass led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager ward, Assistant General Manager Friedl, <br />Administrators Benton and Lewanda, Parks Superintendent Marchesano, <br />Recreation Manager Gass, Recreation Coordinator Nesbitt, Cultural Recreation <br />Coordinator Kurt Gunning, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Thousand Oaks Community Center Haunted Trail — Dennis Gass <br />Benton introduced Gass, who provided a slide presentation and overview of the <br />Halloween Haunted Trail event at Thousand Oaks Community Center. He noted <br />that this was a first time event, over 1,500 attendees enjoyed the costume contest, <br />hayride, haunted trail, live reptile show, petting zoo, trick or treat village and free <br />apple cider. He thanked the Teen Center volunteers. <br />Board members commended staff for the innovative, successful event, and Gass <br />thanked the Board for its support. In response to suggestions, Gass said that staff <br />would investigate the possibility of involving community service organizations next <br />year. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Bob Causey, Thousand Oaks Little League, urged progress on the baseball fields <br />at Lang Ranch Community Park site to meet the growing needs of children in the <br />community. He said that the size of the current facility at Colina Middle School is <br />expected to decrease. <br />
