Election of Board Officers And Confirmation Of Appointments And <br />Assignments <br />Ward stated that traditionally in January the Board elects officers and <br />considers appointments and assignments for the year. <br />Lange nominated Berger to assume the duties of Chair for calendar <br />year 2005. The nomination was seconded by Gibson. Gibson moved, <br />and Lange seconded the motion to close the nominations. The <br />election of Berger as Chair was declared unanimous. <br />Berger assumed the position of chair. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0 to elect <br />Gibson as Vice Chair for calendar year 2005. <br />Gibson and Lange expressed appreciation to Holt for her leadership as <br />chair and representing the District to the community. <br />Berger identified challenges and accomplishments of 2004, including the <br />budget crisis, management workshop, major staff changes, and progress <br />on Amgen Field, the Chumash Interpretative Center, and Peppertree <br />Pavilion. He presented Holt with a ceremonial gavel. <br />On behalf of staff, Ward thanked Holt for her leadership, accessibility, and <br />able representation of the District. <br />Berger referenced current committee assignments, determined openings to <br />be filled, and asked for comments. <br />Gibson noted that the Ventura County Regional Open Space District <br />Advisory Committee was disbanded, thus negating the need for an <br />assignment, and asked if others were interested in serving on the Conejo <br />Coalition for Youth & Families. Holt expressed an interest. Lange thanked <br />Gibson for his work on the Ventura County Regional Open Space District <br />Advisory Committee. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to <br />reappoint Holt to the Civic Center Authority and the Teen Center and <br />
