CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare and Lewanda, <br />Recreation Manager Lindsey and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Conejo Creek Programs — Patty Hamm <br />Hamm presented an overview of the Conejo Creek Programs, and identified <br />Recreation Coordinator Patti Rickets and Specialist Brian Naginey. She spoke of <br />the needs and location of the target population and the programs offered, including <br />a bi-lingual "Mommy and Me," Afro -Brazilian Dance, and a homework club. She <br />highlighted benefits of the program including a safe environment for participants, <br />building of self esteem, and physical activities. Concluding, she identified many of <br />the agencies that support the programs. <br />Board members thanked Hamm for the presentation and her professional efforts. <br />Jacobsen requested a copy of the presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />David Hehner, Newbury Park, said that public input, relevant to Rancho Potrero, <br />was not solicited in a timely manner, nor was it documented. <br />Holt assured Hettner that the Board is listening to public comments, and no final <br />decisions, relative to Rancho Potrero, have been made. <br />John Font!, Thousand Oaks, thanked Gibson and Friedl for their past efforts, and <br />spoke in opposition to Rancho Potrero concept plan. <br />
