CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Gibson led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare and Lewanda, <br />and Administrative Assistant Hessman <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />COSTAC Trails Education Days Contest Winners — Elayne Haggan <br />Andrew Perkins - Acacia Elementary School (not able to attend) <br />Evelyn Tnuong - Conejo Elementary School <br />Savanna Sipes - Sycamore Canyon <br />Vivian Hu - Westlake Hills Elementary School <br />Jed McGuigan - Wildwood Elementary School <br />Elayne Haggan, COSTAC member, highlighted the 2007 annual Conejo Open <br />Space Trails Advisory Committee essay/letter writing contest. She said that <br />approximately 1,600 fifth -grade children participated in event activities this year, <br />and approximate 800 children entered the essay contest. Four of the five winners <br />were introduced as well as two participating teachers in attendance. She thanked <br />the parents and District for their support of COSTAC. <br />On behalf of the District, Jacobsen presented gifts to the winners. Board members <br />commended the winners, teachers, participants and COSTAC volunteers. Student <br />McGuigan read his essay aloud as invited by Jacobsen. <br />
