CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and RSVP Director Powers <br />led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Berger <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl; Administrators Benton, Hare, and <br />Lewanda; Recreation Manager Lindsey, Recreation Supervisor Olbrich, Outdoor <br />Unit Coordinator Gunning, RSVP Director Powers, and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />4. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />RSVP Hugs from Home Program — Cindy Powers <br />On behalf of the Board of Directors, Lange honored and thanked John and Karen <br />Nelson, Sr_ and Corienne and Stanley Cotter for their support: and involvement <br />with the RSVP Hugs from Home program, a military support program, which sends <br />care packages to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lange summarized <br />the accomplishments of the five-year old program, which include 8,700 fleece and <br />knitted hats, 17,000 "cool ties," and 2,300 care packages sent to U.S. troops. <br />Board members expressed their admiration and appreciation of the Nelsons and <br />Cotters for their support of the program. <br />Outdoor Unit Presentation - Kurt Gunning <br />Recreation Supervision Lori Olbrich introduced Outdoor Unit Coordinator Kurt <br />Gunning, who provided a presentation on the Outdoor Unit's four camp programs, <br />Wildwood Camp, Chumash Camp, Discovery Camp and Adventure Camp. He <br />said that camp staff members are all very qualified; last summer 486 campers <br />attended; a total revenue of $237,782.10 was generated; and eight trips to the <br />beach, 24 field trips and 53 trips to the pool were conducted. <br />
