October 9, 2008 <br />Page 5 <br />B. Investment Report— July 2008 -- No Comment <br />C. Budget Performance Reports- July, August 2008 — No Comment <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />No report. <br />Gibson requested that political signage be removed from District property. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton referenced the recreation highlights documentation. The Volunteer <br />Naturalist Training, including dinner, will be held on October 11. Baja Fresh <br />will host a fund raiser for Therapeutic Recreation on October 22. The Area <br />Agency on Aging will sponsor a bus from Goebel Senior Adult Center to the <br />Senior Expo at Ventura County Fairgrounds on October 15, and the Goebel <br />Sixth Annual Table Tennis Tournament will be held on October 22. The <br />Thousand Oaks Teen Center Advisory Committee, the City of Thousand <br />Oaks Youth Commission and the Conejo Coalition for Youth and Families <br />will present the Teen Volunteer and Social Service Fair on October 21. <br />Halloween activities include a Teen Center Dance, the Haunted Trail at <br />Thousand Oaks Center and the Reign of Terror Haunted House at Hillcrest <br />Center. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda stated that a Halloween potluck lunch for Hillcrest Center staff has <br />been scheduled. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl stated that he attended Kids Health Day, it was an excellent event, <br />and he learned a lot. He thanked Lewanda for her efforts as Board <br />Secretary in the absence of Ohren. <br />
