Election of Board Officers and Confirmation of Appointments and Assignments Friedl stated that traditionally in January the Board elects officers and considers appointments and assignments for the year. He referenced the documentation. Holt nominated Lange to assume the duties of Chair for calendar year 2008. It was unanimously agreed upon to close the nominations. The election of Lange as Chair was declared unanimous. Lange assumed the position of chair. He thanked Jacobsen for his service as chair and well representing the District. He presented Jacobsen with a ceremonial chair, signifying his many terms as chair of the Board. Jacobsen thanked staff and members of the Board for their support and reflected on his many satisfying years with the District. Board members thanked and congratulated Jacobsen for his leadership and experience. It was moved by Berger and seconded by Gibson to nominated Holt as Vice Chair. It was unanimously agreed upon to close the nominations. The election of Holt as Vice Chair was declared unanimous. Lange referenced current committee assignments, noted that the only fixed - term appointment set to expire in 2008 was his seat on the Teen Center Services Authority. Gibson requested that representation to the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) be added to the fix -term appointments, noted his term will expire May 2009, and asked to be removed from the Park Naming Committee. It was agreed to appoint Jacobsen to the Park Naming Committee and reappoint Lange to the Teen Center Services Authority.
