CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and Gibson led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare, and <br />Lewanda, Senior Parks Planner Pluth, Parks Superintendent Kouba, Human <br />Resource Supervisor Howell, and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />4. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Las Flores Community Garden — Annual Report 2007 <br />President Fayde Macune presented an overview of the 2007 Annual Report, which <br />included accomplishments, membership, site improvements, crop production, <br />community outreach, and goals. She said that the Garden is currently at capacity <br />with 33 member families and 49 plots occupied. Site improvements include a new <br />compost bin and three redwood benches. Crop production is increasing each year <br />and contributions to Manna have reached an all-time high. Three community <br />outreach workshops were presented. Future plans include an expansion of the <br />Garden. <br />Board members thanked Macune for her presentation and congratulated her on <br />the Garden's success. <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Hare said that no problems, relative to the Garden, <br />have been reported. <br />
