CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 2009 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />In the absence of Chair Holt, Vice Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:31 P.M., <br />and Recreation Manager Kevin Lukes led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: Holt <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare and Lewanda, <br />Recreation Manager Lukes and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Tropical Daze — Randy Strong <br />Strong, a member of the Board of Neighborhoods for Learning (NfL), provided a <br />presentation on the themed two-day festival to be held at Thousand Oaks Community <br />Center on July 25 and 26. The event will include music, entertainment, shows, food, arts <br />and crafts, and will be co-sponsored by the District and NfL. Twenty-five percent of the <br />proceeds will be donated to NfL. <br />"What's Right with Thousand Oaks?" <br />Friedl presented a short video provided by KEPT, Santa Barbara, on the City of Thousand <br />Oaks, which highlighted the Goebel Senior Adult Center and the Teen Center. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Ron Siegel, Westlake Village, requested intormation about the cost of the Lang Ranch <br />project legal fees. He suggested that everyone work cooperatively together, and that a <br />community -wide survey be taken to see what citizens want at the site. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0, with Holt not in <br />attendance, to approve the agenda as presented. <br />
