CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 28, 2009 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:31 P.M., and Short led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Gibson, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl; Administrators Benton, Hare and Lewanda; <br />Recreation Manager Lindsey; Recreation Supervisor Coleman and Executive Assistant <br />Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Recognition of Mike Waters, Principal Colina Middle School — Brenda Coleman, <br />Recreation Supervisor <br />Coleman introduced Teen Center staff and Sharon Waters, wife of Mike Waters. <br />Jay Dodwell, Teen Services Director <br />Pete Martinez, Youth Outreach Worker <br />Dan Nalbandian, Youth Outreach Worker <br />Steve Kraetsch, Teen Unit Recreation Leader <br />Katie Buckley, Cal State Northridge Student Intern <br />Coleman highlighted Waters' professional, academic and community achievements and <br />noted his strong, consistent support of the Teen Center. She said he has been a rich <br />resource for staff. On behalf of the Board, Holt presented Waters with a <br />commemorative plaque. <br />Waters thanked the District for the honor, and praised Teen Center staff. <br />Board members commended Waters, and thanked him for his contribution to the youth <br />of the community. <br />4.
