CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 26, 2009 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />I . CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and Lange led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl; Administrators Hare and Lewanda; <br />Recreation Manager Wiley, Parks Superintendant Kouba, Recreation Supervisors <br />Olbrich and Lukes, Recreation Specialist Montoya and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Conejo Community Center—After School Program <br />Recreation Supervisor Olbrich and Recreation Specialist Montoya <br />Olbrich introduced Montoya and provided an overview of the After School <br />Program. She said that the program is conducted in cooperation with Conejo <br />Valley Unified School District, it was begun in 2006 at Madrona Elementary <br />School, it is anticipated that the program will be expanded, and currently programs <br />are conducted at Meadows, Walnut, Aspen and Madrona Elementary Schools. <br />This year's revenue is projected at $40,000. The curriculum includes various <br />sports, arts, homework assistance, specialty classes and a variety of crafts. <br />Board members commended Olbrich for the program and presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Chris Waide, Thousand Oaks, thanked the District for its support of Lang Ranch <br />Community Park. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0 to approve <br />the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Approval of Minutes of March 12, 2009 Meeting <br />
