September 16, 2010 <br />Page 3 <br />In response to Board inquires, Hare said that as part of the re -bid process, a <br />mandatory job walk will be included for those that did not attend the first job walk; the <br />rebid process could start next week; the rebid would result in a delay of approximately <br />45 days. He discussed the public bidding process and said the goal is to identify the <br />lowest responsible bid. <br />Schreiner reiterated that the safest, conservative approach is to rebid the project, and <br />in fact it may result in lower bids. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange and carried 4-0 to: <br />1. Reject all bids for Oakbrook Neighborhood Park Phase 1 Waterwise Park <br />Improvements. <br />2. Authorize staff to rebid Oakbrook Neighborhood Park Phase 1 Waterwise <br />Park Improvements. <br />A. Approval of Three Vehicle Purchase from Paradise Chevrolet <br />Hare identified the need, envisioned usage, and anticipated mileage of the vehicles, <br />and the bids received. Paradise Chevrolet submitted the low bids for all three <br />vehicles, for a total amount of $75,468.83. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0 to award <br />purchase in the total amount of $75,468.83 to Paradise Chevrolet as follows: <br />(1) 2011 Chevy Pick Up % Ton Regular Cab in amount of $19,888.93 <br />(1) 2011 Chevy 4 x 4 Pick Up % Ton Extended Cab in amount of $26,414.85 <br />(1) 2011 Chevy Pick Up % Ton Extended Cab in the amount of $29,165.85 <br />B. Approval of Agreement with Conejo Disc Golf Club (CDGC) for Use of Rabbit <br />Flats Disc Golf Course <br />Hare noted the presenoe of Mike Byrne and Chuck Mort. <br />Byrne provided information, noting the sport's inception at Conejo Community Park, <br />and its worldwide growth, and the importance of Conejo Disc Golf Club (CDGC), a <br />non-profit organization, which has provided hundreds of volunteer hours in support of <br />the Rabbit Flats course. CDGC now desires an agreement with the District, relative to <br />continuing to assist the District in the maintenance and operation of Rabbit Flats. <br />Monthly and annual tournaments are envisioned. Byrne thanked District staff, <br />especially Kouba, for their collaboration and support. <br />
