CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 18, 2010 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare and Lawanda and <br />Executive Assistant Ohren <br />Gibson recognized the birthdays of Administrators Benton and Hare. <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Neighborhood for Learning (NfL) — Brenda Hunter <br />Hunter provided a presentation in which she identified recent successes, partnerships and <br />upcoming events. She said that the goal of NfL is healthy families and children, and that <br />157 children are in the preschool, and 300 families are provided with daily services. She <br />invited everyone to Celebrate the Family Picnic on April 24 and Tropical Daze on July 24. <br />She thanked the District for its support and for use of the Crowley House. <br />Hunter announced her upcoming retirement. Gibson and members of the Board <br />congratulated Hunter for her accomplishments and extended best wishes for her retirement. <br />Equestrian Trails Incorporated (ETI) Corral 37 Annual Report — Barbara Kloster <br />Kloster, Thousand Oaks, Corral 37, Equestrian Trails Incorporated (ETf), expressed <br />appreciation for the District's longtime support. She introduced ETI Board members Jennifer <br />Walton, Andrew White, Melisa Tosch, LuAnne Jones and Morganne Jones, and provided a <br />slide presentation of ETI activities, participants and upcoming events, such as Day of the <br />Horse. Kloster said that the facility is in use almost every weekend. <br />Board members congratulated and thanked Kloster for the presentation and for outstanding <br />service to the equestrian community. <br />Jennifer Walton spoke of the need for an onsite restroom and lights in the parking lot, and <br />said the organization has participated in helping to place horses that need homes. <br />
