Holt, Director <br />Joe Gibson, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manag <br />SUBJECT: Decomposed Granite Pu as nd Delivery for Conejo Creek West (Dog Park) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Award the purchase and delivery of decomposed granite to Gail Materials in the amount of <br />$44,455.00. Funds are available in Turf Conversion Accounts. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In accordance with the May 2015 Board -approved District purchasing policy, supplies valued <br />between $30,000.01 and $45,000.00 must be approved by the Board. Additionally, staff requested <br />quotes from three local vendors. From this effort, two quotes were received: <br />• $44,455.00 from Gail Materials <br />• $48,144.38 from Corona Clay Company <br />• No Quote from Santa Paula Materials, Inc. <br />The District recently received an approved turf rebate application for the Dog Park in the amount <br />$50,000. The decomposed granite, along with minimal tree planting and irrigation modifications, <br />will provide the basic elements for the turf conversion project (see attached for turf conversion <br />area), Staff will work with the Conejo Off -Leash Area Friends regarding the project design and <br />coordinate the schedule to minimize down time of the facility. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />Meets 2015 Strategic Plan Element 2.3: Maintain the 10 -Year Capital Improvement Pian. Regularly <br />update the 10 -Year Capital Improvement Plan to prioritize projects and effectively plan and allocate <br />future resources.
