CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />November 17, 2011 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:34 pm and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Jacobsen, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and <br />Lindsey, Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Oakbrook Chumash Interpretive Center <br />Miles Lang, Chair of the Oakbrook Chumash Indian Corporation Board of Directors, <br />provided an overview of the Museum's activities for 2011, focusing on its main <br />themes of growth and community. He introduced various staff members/volunteers <br />and outlined some upcoming new exhibits. Lang also extended an invitation to the <br />Winter Solstice celebration on December 17th from 2-6 pm at museum. <br />Board members expressed their appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all <br />staff and volunteers working at the Chumash Center. <br />Conejo Valley Historical Society <br />Richard Williams, President of the CVHS, narrated a brief power point presentation, <br />which set forth various projects needed for the museum. He stated the financials <br />for the Society are good and event attendance has been up this year. <br />
