CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />June 21, 2012 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and Olbrich led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Jones <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and <br />Lindsey, Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Las Flores Community Garden — Laura Lewis <br />Laura Lewis, President of the Las Flores Community Garden, presented a brief <br />report with photos of the Garden, which is currently in full bloom. Monthly fees are <br />$45/plot, an amount which has increased by only $5 since the Garden's inception. <br />The Garden has 121 plots and there are currently 37 people on a waiting list; it is <br />the hope that one day the garden can be expanded so as to accommodate these <br />requests. Lewis answered Board member's questions and thanked them for their <br />support. <br />McCrea Ranch — Lori Olbrich <br />Olbrich, Recreation Supervisor, Conejo Community Center introduced two of her <br />staff members: Kurt Gunning, Recreation Specialist and Nick Davey, McCrea <br />Ranch Program Specialist. She presented a summary of the events held at the <br />McCrea Ranch Visitor's Center since its grand opening on November 5, 2012. <br />There are currently 15 active docents who meet bi-monthly. An inventory system is <br />being developed with Wyatt McCrea's help. Olbrich presented a slide show of <br />pictures from various activities at the Ranch and answered Board member's <br />questions. <br />
