Gibson reported CSDA is putting together what they hope will be <br />a state-wide campaign to educate the general public and the legislature regarding <br />the work of Special Districts. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported Environmental Construction Inc. will begin work at Rancho Conejo <br />Playfield on Tuesday, May 29th with completion scheduled for mid-July. Work on <br />Oakbrook Neighborhood Park is slated to commence in mid- to late June. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />The Summer Concert Series at Conejo Community Park will kick-off this Monday <br />with a Neil Diamond tribute. The Art Walk is scheduled for the first weekend in <br />June. <br />Holt suggested the possibility of arranging parking for concerts and events held at <br />the Conejo Botanic Garden with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Jacobsen <br />asked if the District is doing anything to mitigate noise issues from the Touch -a - <br />Truck event at Thousand Oaks Community Park in June. Lindsey stated there was <br />only one complaint last year; surrounding residents are aware of the event's annual <br />nature and tend to plan accordingly. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda reported Mark Segedie's wife had a baby boy this morning. Jan <br />Robertson's retirement party is next Thursday, May 31 st. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reminded Board members about the workshop with Brent Ives on July 11th. <br />National Recreation and Park Association's annual conference will be held in <br />Anaheim this fall. There will be a reception Monday night for all Gold Medal <br />Finalists; the winner will be announced at the Opening Session on Tuesday. There <br />is a need for a closed session this evening. No report is expected. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gibson raised the parking issues at Pepper Tree Playfield and suggested <br />scheduling more games over the entire day rather than the majority in the <br />
