CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />November 7, 2013 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Holt called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and Lange led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Huffer, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and Lindsey <br />and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Conejo Valley Historical Society <br />Chase Lichtenstein, President (outgoing) of CVHS, and Sandy Hildebrandt, Executive <br />Director, were present to represent the Society. Lichtenstein presented the annual report, <br />which covered the last two years, including museum activities as well as financials_ The <br />Society has been placing more emphasis on increased marketing and recruiting efforts, <br />which is starting to pay off. School tours continue to be very popular; CVHS also goes out <br />to local schools with presentations for students. The on-site blacksmith shop will be going <br />"live" soon. Hildebrandt and Lichtenstein expressed their thanks for CRPD's continuing <br />support. Board members expressed their thanks to CVHS for all its hard work. <br />Introduction of Student Intern <br />Lindsey introduced Rose Hanson, a CRPD student intern from Brigham Young University. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Clint Matkovich, Thousand Oaks, expressed support for the restoration of the Olsen <br />Channel area. <br />S. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Jones, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to approve the agenda <br />as presented. <br />
