Access St. Patrick's Episcopal Church to Old Meadows Park <br />Friedl provided background on the request by St. Patrick's Episcopal Church to build <br />a trail from church property to Old Meadows Park. The Church is willing to take on <br />the responsibility for trail maintenance. Board members expressed some concerns, <br />including possible ADA compliance issues, non -restricted use, security, public <br />access and non-interference by school students of programs currently being held at <br />the park. <br />Doug Holmes of Moorpark indicated his support for the project. <br />Nancy Whitson of Thousand Oaks provided background information on the <br />importance of this project to the school and referred to the CRPD Strategic Plan and <br />its emphasis on forming partnerships with non-profit organizations - St. Patrick's is <br />ready and willing to partner with the District. She supports the project. <br />James Dean of Newbury Park spoke in favor of the project. <br />If Friedl is authorized to negotiate the agreement, he will bring the agreement back to <br />a future meeting for final authorization. Board members agreed with this approach. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to authorize <br />General Manager to negotiate a mutually acceptable agreement with St. <br />Patrick's Episcopal Church to provide direct access from the Church to Old <br />Meadows Park. <br />B. Oakbrook Neighborhood Park (West Side) as a Reservable Field <br />Hare reported that due to the newly increased amenities at Oakbrook Neighborhood <br />Park, staff recommends the five acres of active turf on the western portion of the <br />property be made reservable through the permitting process. Before making this <br />recommendation, Hare spoke with the president of the HOA. Discussion ensued <br />
