CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />July 7, 2016 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm and Callis led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, ,tones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Huffer <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Lewanda, <br />and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Borchard Community Center — "May Mayhem 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament" <br />Kurt Gunning, Recreation Supervisor, Borchard Community Center, gave an overview of <br />the May Mayhem Basketball Tournament. Gunning introduced Michael Braff, Recreation <br />Leader, who has been running the tournament since its inception. Braff provided more <br />details of the event and showed a video of this year's tournament. Braff and Gunning <br />answered Board member's questions and were thanked for their informative presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Gerry Kiffe, Newbury Park, voiced concerns about Banyan Park's current turf conversion. <br />Gayle Olson, Newbury Park, expressed concerns about Banyan Park's decline. <br />Stella Violano, Newbury Park, is concerned for the health of the sycamore trees at Banyan <br />Park. <br />David Hampton, Newbury Park, would like to see changes to planned turf conversion. <br />Susan Trockey, Newbury Park, expressed disappointment over the Phase 2 plans for <br />Banyan Park and requests modification of same. <br />Tim Kroll, Newbury Park, requests a reevaluation of the turf conversion at Banyan Park <br />
