Award Landscape Mulch Material purchase contract in the unit price of $18.28 per Cubic <br />Yard to Foothill Soils, Inc., minimum 6,000 Cubic Yards. <br />2. Award Landscape Mulch Material purchase contract in the unit price of $18.00 per Cubic <br />Yard to Agromin, minimum 6,000 Cubic Yards. <br />Funds are available in turf conversion account. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Recently the District was notified by the Metropolitan Water District that 29 parks, on the waiting <br />list for turf rebates since July 2015, have been approved. The 29 parks represent approximately <br />1.25 million square feet (29 acres) of turf and $870,000 in rebates. In order to receive the <br />rebate funds, the projects must be completed in eight months. <br />As part of the turf conversion process, the District will be purchasing a minimum of 12,600 cubic <br />yards of mulch. Thus, in order to procure mulch in mass quantities at a discounted per cubic <br />yard price, the District advertised a Landscape Mulch Material and Delivery at Various Parks bid <br />in the Ventura County Star and on the District website. Two bids were received and were <br />opened at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13th <br />Vendor Bid Unit Price per CY`* <br />Foothill Soils, Inc. $ 18.28 <br />Agromin $ 18,00 <br />Reference — in general, District has been paying $25 per CY for similar material on individual jobs <br />Due to the limited time and the large quantity of product needed, staff recommends awarding <br />the purchase contract to two vendors.
