The cost of water has been a growing concern
as the past few years have produced little rainfall to off -set the amount of water
purchased by the District. However, on April 1, 2015, with the Governors drought
emergency declaration, the availability of water also became a significant issue. Additionally, the District has
begun the process of transitioning nearly every park to be more drought -tolerant and
water -wise.
Karen Lindsey is retiring after nearly four decades and serving as the Administrator of
Recreation & Community Services for the past five years. The report
summarizes revenue and expenditure trends in general, with a breakdown of recreation
tax support within each unit. The report also includes staff changes (promotions) and
highlights the division's accomplishments over the past five years.
The following bullet point list is a summary of some of the Board's significant actions,
projects and accomplishments for 2015 as part of its constant effort to fulfill the District's
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 FAX: (805) 497-3199 Email: parks@crpd.org
