Holt, Director Joe Gibson, Director GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS TO: Board of Directors Tex Ward FROM: Jim Friedl, General Mana SUBJECT: Board of Directors' "N s " uidelines," and "Processes" RECOMMENDATION Consider, modify as necessary and approve the Board of Directors' "Norms, "Guidelines, ' and "Processes." BACKGROUND On July 11, 2012, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the attached "Norms," "Guidelines," and "Processes" after considering and discussing these documents over several meetings. At the 12/18/14 Board meeting, the Board reviewed these documents, making a minor change to "Guidelines" section 2.2.1. The intent is that the "Norms," "Guidelines" and "Processes" will be reviewed and updated annually or as needed as a best practice for high functioning boards. These documents serve to memorialize the traditions and business practices that have fostered a collegial, professional, respectful, and fun atmosphere among the District's officials as they strive to serve the public's recreation, parks and open space needs in an open, deliberative and efficient manner. The "Norms," "Guidelines" and "Processes" are included under the Board of Director's section on the Conejo Recreation and Park District's website. STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE 6.0 "...create, maintain & implement policies and procedures to ensure sound management of the District. Our strategy will be to conduct periodic reviews, refinement and implementation of policies and procedures, and assure that the organization has clear direction for successful operations in an open, honest and ethical manner."
