Holt, Director <br />Joe Gibson, Director <br />DATE: December 17, 2015 <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manage <br />SUBJECT: Confirmation of Board Ap>«poirtbnents and Assignments <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Confirm, modify, add or delete committee assignments as appropriate. <br />DISCUSSION <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />Traditionally, at this time of year, the Board conducts its annual organizational meeting. <br />Board appointments and assignments are reviewed by the Board of Directors annually at a <br />CRPD Board meeting (typically during or soon after the annual reorganization meeting), <br />although the majority of the Board may amend the appointments and assignments at any time. <br />For example, in September 2015, the Board of Directors created the Conejo Creek Park ad <br />hoc committee with Vice -Chair Huffer and Director Gibson. <br />Under the category "Fixed Term Appointments" CRPD has Directors on the Conejo Open <br />Space and Conservation Agency (COSCA) and the California Association of Recreation and <br />Park Districts (CARPD). The agreement creating the Conejo Open Space Conservation <br />Agency (COSCA) provides that members of the COSCA board serve 4 -year terms at the <br />pleasure of their appointing body and until their respective successors are appointed and <br />qualified. As for CARPD, in April 2015, the CRPD Board nominated Director Gibson to the <br />California Association of Recreation and Park District's Board of Directors. He was then <br />elected by CARPD members to the CARPD Board for a 3 -year term.
